Sound Walk

Last week I turned everything off and focused on the sound at 34th Herald sq in the heart of New York City. This was a really strange experience for me.From some day, I could not live without earphones and cell phones. But as I was doing this project, I focused on the sound of New York.

I heard people once. I listened to what they were going to do, where they should eat, and what they were talking about. I went to the bank to listen to another sound and to do my work.

I heard a loud machine noise and people's telephone tones. The bank guards sounded let busy urging people come in and do their thing because the machine is busy. Most of the sound in the bank complain about the long lines. And there were those who made their music louder and let others hear, and those who made the phone calls bigger.

I moved to another place and I moved to 32 Korean Town. Korean Town was always a lot of cars due to its narrow roads and there were huge cars line up on that day. There were a lot of horns and people who made a sound of asking for consent to deliver things to the restaurant, and there was a sound people who were advertising to gather guests in front of the store. Especially the sound of the horn was so loud that it made me feel bad.

Finally, I went to the open space where 34 was inside and listened to the people. As the road was in front, the sound of the horn was mainly made, but the sound of the citizens was heard from time to time.
